Just wait til one of the sheaves falls off and hits you, or a big tree falls on the cable, or your chair falls off the cable (ok, maybe the bar wouldn't do much for the last one).

In case it wasn't clear, I'm making fun of Snowbowl and their shitty chairlifts.

Can't use an IPhone. (Insert tele joke). But had a blast on my thrift store skis and had some laughs with the local ski shop guys who want to get me on some fancy new alpine skis... Think my ski-totes confused some kids.

Chair 2 reload at Loveland Monday; Guy behind me to his buddy:

"I think we're going to look back on this day in April as the best day of the season".

    Sadly, he was probably right.

Not really a gaper quote but it made me laugh on the hill this morning..

I skied through the beginner area to get to where I parked my car and I heard the Spanish speaking ski instructor trying to get his class of what I assume were spanish speaking 5-6 year old kids to get out of the wedge, he was yelling "papas fritas! papas fritas!"

Guy came into the rental shop wasted at around 9:30 with a bunch of his buddies on college day recently. He had 3+ down for skier type so, as usual, i let him know that his skis most likely wont come off in the event of a fall. His response, " ya man, thats what i want, its my first time and all but i play ice hockey and skiing and skating are pretty much the same thing."

After arguing a little about the validity of that statement, I had him initial next to his DIN and sent him on his way.

Hah. The Demo shop at Squaw has a couple of pairs of TNC's--look about 215. Guy says they go out a lot. I'm not tempted.

Random Dude - "yeah those straps are for avalanches in case the ski falls off so you can find them"
Random Girl with Straps - "no avalanches!"
Random Dude's Friend - "oh for avalanches?"
Random Girl with Straps - "no avalanches!" (very adamant that she doesn't like avalanches)
    Random Dude - "what?"
Random Girls with Strap - "No, I use these in the powder in case my ski falls off and I lose it, gosh!"

Meanwhile it's mainly just packed powder... gems in the Supreme lift line

The chair thing happened two seasons ago at my local hill. They were instructed to ditch their skis and poles as to not interfere with them getting roped down. Funny thing is after they got them down, they off loaded the rest of the chairs, disconnected that particular chair, ran the lift for a lap while someone banged the chairs with a hammer, listening for any unusual sounds, and it was back to business as usual. That particular lift was scheduled to and has been taken down since.....

.... Sorry for the thread distraction.... To get back on track of gaper quotes ....
