that must be the one on the avalanche.ca report

"Another notable avalanche was on Decker Mountain in the Blackcomb backcountry, which may have been triggered by a skier. It was on a steep northeast facing slope at 2400 m and the slab was 100 cm thick. "

    freaking scary!!

at that elevation and thickness I'm guessing it didn't fail on the dec 4th layer.

You know, in a way the Decker slide is reassuring. A dense, stiff windslab like of that size failing and not stepping down to the Dec. 4 layer might be a sign that it's gaining strength, at least on similar aspects where it's buried 3m+ deep.

todd we did. I got a picture that shows two slides. The main slide reported on the CAA site ran off the convexity right at top of 9th Hole. Looks like there was another slide that might have been cornice triggered to lookers right?

Stoked to look at this TR again, just agreed to a heli drop up Rainbow on Saturday. How long did it take you to get down? Did you do a few laps? I'll be up there with Les Manley, do you know him?
    Believe.

    Your TRs never disappoint
I can't believe you are a rando racer because I look so much better in Lycra than you.

People who don't think the Earth is flat haven't skied Vail.
