I know Luv's is hidden in some wind-protected trees slightly below mid-mountain. So it shows how much snow fell, but not if its wind scoured / wind filled. At least unlike Breck the read from the top of the pile, not what is covered around the ruler.
There are a few, although I'm not sure where they pull the 5:30am read since they tore down the old base area patrol building. One's behind BML, and there's another outside PHQ.

I heard Breck hires interns to stand just out of view of the camera and shake extra snow down on the stake.

What's the latest on 4? Is everything open?

Any chance 8 opens before/during this next storm?

Lift 4 is open to mid-way with all terrain under and skiers left of the lift open.

Everything on Lift 8 is open except: The Plunge, Awesome (not Awesome) and In the Mood.

West and East Ropes are not open yet.

A-bowl / Zoom / Cat's / Tigers were also open yesterday. All had low-snow spots, but skiing them early season pre-bumps is always a pleasure. Probably see Fail Safe Trees open during the next couple of days as well as In the Mood off 8 with a bit more coverage.

9 is still a ways out I believe, even though Patrol bowl, Super bowl, and No 4 Headwall are easily skiable. OTR will take some time still. I imagine West/East Ropes aren't going to happen til early/mid Jan at best.

Nope. South Chutes are (and skiing nicely), but as of Saturday all skiers right of Fail Safe / Lift 4 were closed. I imagine by the end of this week we'll see most everything from steeps on 1 to In the Mood open including top of 4 / North Chutes / Fail Safe.

Heard approximately 5 bombs from up high yesterday between 10:30 and 2:00. Didn't have great visibility, but sounded like I heard a successful release, hard to tell where.
