I maintain that the pro tip is to not ski Chair 8.

What's their existing parking capacity? 500 cars seems like a lot but I'm not a dentist.

On a note related to In the Mood, a short walk to #4 headwall for 3 turns was the call Monday. The wind destroyed just about everything else.

50-60mph winds forecast for Fri/Sat. I’ll be around Thurs anyway.

You know... just this season I learned there's a #6 Headwall. I've never seen it, never skied it, but apparently it exists. A friend sent me a picture of the sign for the hike to it.

Apparently completely visible right as you get off Chair 6. Which is probably why I've never seen it... once terrain starts opening up I don't ride Chair 6. And this probably isn't open until terrain starts opening up. I am curious about it though...

It's short, featureless in the frequent windy/snowy conditions, but occasionally has really good snow and a few decent turns.

    agreed.

    8 always has good snow.

I have never skied 9 this is our first year at LL. So far I really like 4 and 6 has some fun runs, although not challenging in any way. I can’t wait to ski cat trees this weekend. I have not ventured to tiger tail mainly because I get tired of freezing my ass off waiting for Chets dream.

I really like LL but runs are short there IMO.

I want to hit #4 head wall but it is a pita to get to lately.

If you're not skiing steeps under and to skiers right of Chets, you're missing most the good steep terrain currently open at Loveland. East/West Ropes and Tunnel face (not The Face which is different...and also open) are all now open and this is the prime time to ski them.

    Rgr that.

wind shut us down last weekend before we could ski the ropes or tunnel face.

I don’t mind the face too much but it’s not worth the effort.

hopefully the weather cooperates Sunday and most people will head to Ptarmigan.

hope to hit avalanche bowl and the ropes this weekend.

how is spring skiing at LL?

You're like SkaredShtles and NTM when it comes to LL then? Although, he's finally put tires on those trails this past summer... so maybe your time at Loveland is coming!

Yes! Me too. Really cool to see all the personal photos. That FB group is the best thing on my feed. Getting a glimpse into the past of LL’s local Ski culture is so rad!
