    Colorado Weather Discussion Thread

Did anyone go through that area? Did police stop every car and check for chains / tread?

Wish I was knee deep in Beav!

My bet is they're not actively checking but if you get stuck you get a ticket if a.) You have bald tires and b.) You dont have chains. It's a start at least.

Quarter test on all westbound vehicles at Morrison. They were brushing off tires to look for severe snow symbol. Pulled over vehicles everywhere with 30+ troopers righting tickets.

What time was that taking place? I jumped on at 40/I70 around 6:30 and nothing. Roads were fine but traffic sucked as usual.

Jealous of all you that got to the beav, that mountain is always such a blast. Got out for a little tour up to emerald today with the little one so didn't make any turns but the snow was looking great. Really cold temps and no wind at all made for some really light fluffy snow. Very minimal crowds too for the day after Xmas. Fun day for sure!

Last 2 days have been great and Alberta didn't open today. Bring the biggest sticks or board you have!

Checking in from Costa Rica where it is 90 degrees and sunny. Been mostly off the grid for the past two weeks in Nicaragua and CR and just now hearing about all the snow in CO. When we left on the 17th it was warm and it looked like no snow for at least 2 weeks into the future. The surf here has been good, but I'm a bit jealous of the snow!

Looking forward to getting after it next week when we are back! Hopefully it keeps snowing.

Frigid, but great day at Copper. The back is filling in really well. Caught the rope drop to the West Ridge and pointed 'er down Bradleys a few times. Great leftovers!

Equally good day at copper. 12 degrees all day with slow persistent light snow.

Good day at the Beav. I rode first then let the wife go. I got a call shortly after that she had cased a catwalk in poor VIS and was down. She was able to make her way down Grouse to the medical center....ACL torn. Total bummer.
