I'm confident this thing is going to be a dud. Far too much hype. 2-5 inches on the front range, and a dusting at most of the ski areas.

The curse of the Winter Storm Warning strikes again.

Well i70 closed WB right now around idaho springs after a whopping inch of snow, let's hope it just stays that way.

Already hearing a lot of people say they're just going to wait til monday to try and ski.

LOL at the winter storm warning for Crested Butte. We had that during the '03 storm as well and I don't even think we got an inch. I'm expecting about the same out of this one. At least the CBAC is being more realistic, talking about a dry slot which will likely limit totals

What about Kebler/Irwin. They should do well?

I will say that it still looks quite warm for the weekend. Would not be shocked if this storm barely sticks to the roads (in the metro area).

CAIC front range flipped to all 1 for today, then 3 (considerable) tmrw + avy watch for Fri 6AM to Sun 6AM. Gotta think Sun then steps up pretty big. Should really help the snowpack
However, interesting that their (CAIC's) point forecast for eldo totals 13.6" for this storm (almost all during day on Sat) and RMNP totals 17"... versus Joel's 36" and 46"... big spread!

It didn't snow up there in 03 either. Upslopes usually do a sneaky end-around past the western mountains. But hopefully I'm wrong!

That’s been my prediction too. Also, I think the model totals are based on 10% snow. It’s probably going to come down alot denser than that, at least at the lower elevations.

With it moving north, how does that effect the I70 corridor and Denver? Lower or higher amounts?

The Sprinter collective should be migrating to Snowy Range and Hogadon.

Latest model showing less than a foot near Denver. The hype was real

Btw the models aren't all agreed on totals. Pattern is solid but epicenter is all over

    Colorado Weather Discussion Thread

The really warm nature for Denver means rain early and low snow ratios. And if it keeps jogging north, the less the city gets. Hard storms to predict. Not gonna be an all timer but still 1-3 feet is a nice storm down there. Hope we can get 8-12 and the road closes.

ABasin passes are on sale. $479 for returning pass holders. Al says they will further restrict ticket sales next season after it has been working so well this season. That’s kinda cool.

Kinda a steep hike from last season @ $350 to renew... but I agree kinda cool they are further restricting access.

Agreed. $350 was the Covid price though. I think that I originally paid $459 (like days before the shutdown) but then got a refund.

What they did not mention is Ikon. Sounds like no restrictions there other than blackout days for base passholders. I'm still a buyer though. It's been pretty quiet for the most part this season. Also been nice driving past a full Keystone lot, yet be able to park where I can basically ski to/from my car.
