I've been trying to think of a year where the conditions for mid april were worse than they are right now, but I can't. Even the years with no snow like '12 were better. It's just a windfucked icy mess here on the south side of the elks.

^I can’t recall ever being so ready to stick a fork in a season. I got 5 runs in Monday at a-basin before pushing the boredom button.

Tuesday afternoon was better (if it were mid-January) so made double digits.

The drive to/from in a new-ish WRX was still the most fun of both days, which has been a recurring theme all season.

You guys are really pushing me to ride bikes in the desert Sunday instead of driving 2 hours each way to ski Monarch and get blasted by wind. And I never pick biking over skiing.

100” below average snowfall says it’s more than a me problem, but yeah, my attitude was especially garbage Monday. I showed up to bitch in-person, and will likely continue doing so till they shut it down, cuz that’s how I roll.

Would be nice if one more significant storm lines up with my days off, and really looking forward to bluebird slush-bump days on Ramrod before it’s all over.

You skiing all 350 inches of that average snowfall at once?

It’s not like the coverage isn’t there

Really? You know how they get to 314? It snows every few days. When it doesn’t do that, and there’s a warming event followed by a freeze, it sucks. Monday was that. By Tuesday afternoon is was better, but even on an above average year, there can be some not so great days.

Coverage and snowpack are well below average, but apparently only on the days I show up (to bitch in-person).

If the Basin doesn’t get some good storms soon, I’m not sure it’ll make it to June if/when it really warms up.

It could be worse, you could be skiing Steamboat. The snow melted there a long time ago.

hmm idk the skiing at the basin has been pretty good this season considering. you will always get some of those shitty days in the spring between the nice days and spring storms. looks like its dumping up there now and work is pretty slow, has me thinking. will be partaking in the dusters shitshow tomorrow as well though. think I might do my part and actually ride the summit stage there for my 2nd time ever.

^timing is everything, and my timing has consistently blown this year. I don’t doubt I’ve missed some damn good days.

Still holding out hope I’ll luck into more than 3” of fresh before prime beach season. Looking back, I’ve had some deep tax days, and technically Monday is tax day, and I don’t have to work…

Unfortunately, yes. That said, the jamgrass scene seems to have an amazing lack of diversity even within the white folk. I'm guessing they'll be an abundance of faux plaid adventure shirts. Probably a pretty strong showing of Forerunners with well curated sticker game.
