WP/MJ was great. Deep in the morning and never stopped dumping all day. Stake showed 10", easy 14"+ in spots and great all over.
With some more snow falling after lifts close, tomorrow could provide some really nice leftovers.

Snow was better than expected around the LL pass area yesterday. Definitely a MF crust on most aspects under a few inches of new snow. Snow seemed to be bonding surprisingly well as very little sloughing was seen even on steeper faces. Rode a NE facing tree run.

Lots of fun at WP yesterday. Snowed hard all day. Outhouse, Rettas and Outrigger were absolute riots.
NW Flow FTW…

Pretty much a dud for Crested Butte, with 3", but the Irwin magic sauce was in full effect for 15". I have the feeling that Irwin is going to get a bunch of snow over the course of this week.

Berthoud is skiing surprisingly thin right now. Tons of sharks. Avoided most of them. Great morning - about 2' up there. Faceshot city. Vail was good yesterday. Wind did some real magic.

That shot from chair 5 looks awesome! I am wishing I could be ditching work at vail today. But got a couple quick laps at Bert, and yeah...knee deep! Felt great to ski pow again. Lindahl we were up there at the same time it sounds like. I was the beater booting up since I forgot to put the skins in my bag. Great snow for the gf to get practice in the pow.

You guys see any slide activity on BP?
I was going to take a quick lap after WP, but on the last downhill into Grand county, the roadbank slid about 30’ wide directly in front of me. Stopped in time, but it spooked me real good…

Not a whole lot of new up at the A-basin but it rode well. Just enough to hide the rocks

Things were pretty reactive yesterday at BP. Lots of point release/new snow sloughs on anything over 35 degrees, some running pretty fast and far. Great turns on anything just a little less steep though.
Things are thin in all the usual December places, for sure.

Vail this AM did not suck. Much deeper than 11" new in the Bowls, and really uncrowded. Like Montana said, I needed that. I had the flu all last week...this day made it worth it 😉

At BP, those point releases and sloughing became small soft slabs today. Not a lot of propagation, but definitely some cohesiveness. Never got anything big to pop - just minor soft slabs in isolated pockets. More wind and snow will definitely make things more dangerous. Wouldn't be surprised to see some meaningful activity up there before the end of the week.
@garuda - right on, was with a couple other guys, but I bailed early. I was the one doing the lap down lift line with my airbag inflated for shits and giggles - traveling with it on Thu.

Dug a pit at Berthoud on N aspect just skier's left of mines 2 a little below treeline. Literally 5 feet of snow, new snow on facets that were starting to consolidate, no tricky interfaces. Skied very steep trees and the snow sluffed hard the whole way down, man that was a rush. Coverage was good for rocks, but deadfall is still an issue. Also skied floral and it seemed more cohesive but thin coverage at the bottom.
What a day. My legs.
On the trail map it looks like we skied the line called the fingers at the far end of hells, stuck to woods skier's right, staying out of gullies more to the left. Pretty gnar.Last edited by SheRa; 12-15-2014 at 08:57 PM.
