Breck was very nice yesterday, took the kids out of school to enjoy that day, that was special, lapping the trees under 8 connect was a happy place to be. Man, it was cold, I'm not used to the cold.

FYI, we will not be going to beaver creek this weekend, so I'm cancelling our 5 spots right now, not sure how it works but it's full now, so maybe someone can snag the open spots.

Basin skied great this morning, found nice soft snow in my 2 hours on Pali this morning. The face was skiing exceptionally well. This snow is definitely helping to fill things in.

This cycle has been a godsend for Steamboat. 10” up high yesterday, 10” overnight, easily >10” fell through the day today. Dumping at the base as we speak.

    Fuck I’m beat!

    Rinse n repeat tomorrow!

It's starting to get nice. An easy 15" in bounds yesterday. Nice surfy pow on the pass this afternoon. Snowmobiling tomorrow. Back to the pass Sunday. Maybe back over to Simple's zone next week if I can find the guidebook.

Yes, the face was great. Also the trees in the Beavers are getting good.

I'm not sure where to post this complaint, but: Squaw/Alpine says they will not give A-Basin passholders a discount. So much for that plan.

"Purchase lift tickets at Mountain Collective resorts at 50% off the window price" is a listed passholder benefit.

I’m guessing that’s a misprint on their site. Mountain Collective pass holders get 50% off day tickets once they use up their allotted days. It just doesn’t make sense that pass holders of the resorts (and not Mountain Collective) would also get that perk since there’s no benefit to squaw of giving Abasin pass holders a perk like that (squaw doesn’t list a similar perk for their pass holders at other resorts).

Big miss on their part if actually an error and would be interested to hear if Abasin has any interest in making it right.

I looked into the recently and here’s from mountain collective website

Premium passholders at Mountain Collective Resorts have the opportunity to purchase unlimited 50% off single day tickets at the other Mountain Collective Resorts. We recommend reaching out to the resort you're interested in visiting to inquire about specific details.

Please note: The Mammoth Black Pass is the only product from Mammoth Resorts that includes this benefit. Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows does not currently offer any passes that include this benefit. The SkiBig3 Season Pass is the only product from Banff Sunshine, Lake Louise, and Mt. Norquay that includes this benefit.

Interesting. So if the Abasin season pass is their ‘premium’ pass the 50% off benefit should be included? If squaw doesn’t offer the benefit to their pass holders does that mean they don’t participate in this added benefit at all?

Non ski related, but I really, really enjoyed ‘mostly’ dry dirt on some Trails in Golden.

Man this snow helped so much, even south facing stuff in Breck is skiing well with minimal rocks. So great that the first 6 inches or so weds night came in very wet.

Yeah, that foot of snow 3 days ago was a miracle storm- super thick and perfect for the base. If it had been 12" of blower we'd still be slamming rocks everywhere in CB (well, we kind of still are, but comparatively speaking), but instead the high lift and North Face openings were as good as they ever get.
