Wind has been doing its work from the Indian Peaks up into the park. It's a good time to stick to your favorite protected stashes if you want to ski on a pleasant surface. Also there has been some unusual wind with the 3 recent upslopes. There are windslabs on aspects that don't usually have them.

nice shots. Is there any place in Colorado where the north facing trees are not skiing great? I bought here because I was amazed how long the snow stayed good with out a refresh. This month has been incredible. The skiing has just gotten better with the near- surface facets. The sluffing on the steeps and low density snow has made for great skiing. Lucky to be here.

Pretty nice north facing trees on BP today for me.
Other folks put down some big, beautiful lines up high.
I expect parked cars on the high way tomorrow.

The ones below 8000’ are rough.

Had to really work to find the powder at Silverton, but there are some pockets. Great turns in Tiger 1, Mandatory and Nightmare

We've got some city friends visiting and I can't decide if it is funny or sad to watch episodes 1-3 of "How not to be a Front Range Ski Family".

Leave "after work Friday" 3 weeks in a row, sit in endless traffic and act astounded everytime.

Junk show up to the ski area late, deal with a kid that is melting down because doesn't like the scramble and being late to meet his group.

Look for season rentals in the middle of January in the mountains and end up having to buy because "those have been sold out since Halloween"

Leave you boots in the car at 20 below

"What are you gonna do for dinner" "We'll just drive over the pass and order a Pizza"...1.5 hour wait for a Pizza on a Friday night leads to going to the grocery to buy something "The shelves were half empty and it was really busy".

They seem like they are having fun and they are good peeps. I guess it's better that there are more of them than people that know what the are doing but its astounding to me that people live their life like this.

It seems your friends have less a problem with their lifestyle than you do.

That’s not very surprising. I think that I would just bail and go to the closest brewery? I hear there’s one round there somewhere.

I don’t have a problem with people doing this lifestyle but I don’t get it. Almost 60° in Denver. Why would people want to drive in traffic for 3 hours just to get to be in big lines all day, no matter what you do. @epicliftlines and @I70things is gold.

Exactly. I got out there for the 1:30 to 4 shift, got a handful of runs in, drank some beer in the sun with my friends...can't complain. Aforementioned city family cut the trip short and are on there way back to the city. I didn't play concierge but apparently the highlight was the wife asking my wife what she would do when faced with the parking challenge that is 16K people at Wanker Park and the answer was, "Turn around and go home".

As someone that loves skiing and want others to experience it but its no longer a game than can be run loose. It ain't easy even with some focus and strategery.

I guess I’ve just never seen late afternoon so busy until this season especially.

I might, off that day and haven’t really decided what to do. High alpine in Breck is probably some of the better skiing inbounds for the northern mtns right now though, that 6 or so inches this week did well.

Being facetious, that’s a white surrender flag.

I’m thinking dunes from the top of 7.

All I can think looking at that pic is how awesome riding Boulder Gulch was last summer. That hike a bike is no joke!
