Luv was complete shit show today. Frankly would like them to punt the racers and open up Lift 3 in the valley. Rather ski that than wait 30min in line with a bunch of bozos who can't wear a mask.

But at least the snow was soft and new skis go fast.

Powder days at Luv will be fine once the place is open. Parking is the limiter there -- the problem is sunny day post storm, right before xgiving, not much open. Road up with several IKONers, WP and Copper passholders today.

Yeah the wife and I drove over there from Breck around 10 (had errands or woulda gone earlier) and turned around. Just waited til 1 and Breck wasn’t so bad. The singles lines are moving very fast since groups of two usually happen where they’d normally join solo with a bigger group on a normal year.

Ridge isn't opening this year. Not enough time to boot pack it.

Just about the longest lift lines I have ever experienced at loveland today. They had to add more lines to the maze to keep the line from extending all the way across to chair 2. Problem was that MOST of chairs went up with 1-2 people. I would like to see data on covid transmission on a ski lift wearing masks. My guess is that the risk is negligible. They fill the rows on airplanes for christs sake and there is data that says that is fine as long as people wear masks. FILL THE CHAIRS.

    Upper Richards was nice.

It doesn't help that they don't even try to create a singles line that would allow people to join easier, easier meaning that lift ops could join them up instead of leaving it to the people. Like I said above, it's actually working pretty well in Breck, still busy at times but you're never actually waiting that long.

I'm a little frustrated with the loooong days, witheringly intense sun and lack of precipitation.

At least I like my job and the place I'm living, but I think this will be my last foray south of the 45th parallel.

Rode Luv with the kids Tues afternoon. Snow was good, lines weren't bad. Gapers in full effect. My 8 year old kept asking why so many snowboarders were walking down the hill.
Because the drive from Texas made them tired, son.

Man... I get the precip complaint but longer days and sunshine? I hated the weather when I lived in the PNW. Where will you try next?

    Do you have a pass?

The skiing is good here. I had a fantastic day.
If you want to sack up and show up with your A game, early. I’ll show you some good skiing.

Yeah, um, I can find a lot of things to complain about in Western Colorado. Long winter days and sunshine wouldn't be on my list.

What’s the beta on restaurants around WC like in Pagosa? Open? Take out only?

Trying to figure out how to pack if I go for more than one day. No lodge makes it tricky.
