I'd strongly suggest retirement. It's so much better than working (I think).

Unfortunately, I don’t have construction or software background which wipes out 75% opportunities. I can fit in manufacturing or industrial systems setting

Why, in the FSM's name, would you do that?!?

I personally think that Benny may be doing it wrong.

I'd welcome a nice layoff at this point... hopefully yours came with some severance? I love severance...

Severance, yes. I’ll enjoy some off time. Very strange feeling this morning to wake up w/o alarm and no emails to check

Odin, do you have any opportunities within different divisions of the company, or was this from TT corporate?

Corporate knuckleheads have stranglehold on hiring. I haven’t checked yet, but if something is available, I’m not sure I want to move across the country for this company

EO, sorry to hear about the layoff. As a state employee in the legal field, I got nothing to offer but +++vibes+++. Good luck, mang!

Solid synopsis from the CBAC: What is going on with the weather this week? Well, basically old man weather gave a small child a low powered squirt gun and sent him to go play off the west coast of California. That child has no rime or reason for his actions and is sporadically spraying down the Western US. Sunday afternoon and the Tuesday/Wednesday timeframe appear to be the best-organized weather out of this mess and our best chances for accumulating snowfall.

Any thoughts on how to best thank a ski patrol for providing help? A donation to CAIC in their name, or directly for some equipment they might need?

I flew off a groomer roll at high speed last weekend at Wolf Creek. Didn't stick the landing, shattered a vertebra, nearly paralyzed myself. My semi-miraculous recovery of the use of my legs started with incredible, professional, timely, knowledgeable support from the WC patrol. They got me stabilized, down the hill, and on an ambulance in a ridiculously short period of time. Hell, the IV line they put in me lasted my entire week in the hospital and was better done than the handful of others in me at one point or another.

I figured this community would be able to best advise on what I could do to show some thanks (or maybe even includes some WC patrollers).

And remember, that copying management on a thank you note is a cool thing.

    Congrats on the recovery!
