Went to Keystone today because I was almost out of gas in the truck. Top of the mountain only right now but skiing pretty good. Longer run than the Basin. Gotta download the gondi, but they look close to opening top to bottom. Someone said they might have had snowmaking issues. There's a lot of snow now though and everyone should have a lot of stuff opening soon. Lenawee opens Saturday they have said. Nice to spread folks out a bit.

Apparently there was a skier triggered avalanche Peak 1, nobody buried. There's two slides I can see up there.

Huh. Never really thought of trying that this time of year. How deep is the base? Assuming it went to the ground. Haven’t been out yet.

Yeah, should be an interesting year. Lots of big slides already. WTF is up with the CAIC site?

Weren't there a couple skier-triggered slides up Dry Gulch this past week?
CAIC's site has been super wonky lately. Their app has been loading fine for me though.

"everyone is asking me if I went skiing yet, I'm like fuck, who wants to ski that shit, and what do I look like a realtor"
crusty old guy whose been around too long as he spent ten minutes ranting about everyone and how pushy they've become

Have heard Butler is great.

Butler Gulch on Sunday 11-4-18. Hiked up to the creek, bunch of skiers coming down. Said it was good. Coverage was much deeper than I expected. Watch out for the super pissed off Colorado "native" that drove his truck in the ditch at the parking lot and couldn't get it out. Blamed the skiers who spread their gear all over the place that forced him into the ditch.

Trelease south trees yesterday were great. Areas that had received direct sun exposure had a thin sun crust but anything that was shaded, sheltered, or indirect was nice silky fluffy pow. Trelease NE trees today were also great, in areas that were not wind affected.
