70mph winds just might move some of that around and deposit it on certain aspects, ya know.

That and the forecast I read before that post was saying 2 feet above 8k.

Getting kind of close to that time where I'll start paying attention to the weather. Specifically, keep on an eye out for certain patterns developing as my experience the past couple of winters is that the storm track has been fairly predictable.

looks like most of the moisture has slid to east of the divide. Maybe an inch or two still.

It was retarded windy today in Eagle County...I mean really really retarded windy. Buddy at the airport said the tower clocked at 96 mph gust.

Snow is ongoing around the Steamboat area...reports of a few inches and snowpacked roads over Rabbit Ears Pass. Most of the moisture from the initial part of the storm is east of the divide, but another round of snow will come through early AM through about noon, favoring the Parks and Gores. About 0.1-0.2" of liquid with this second part of the storm = about 2-4 more inches for north and west of Silverthorne, with less further south and east.

Map below shows liquid precip from midnight to noon on Thursday.

Fuckin cold today in the Ville! 24 degrees right now in the "heat of the day"!!!

Woke up to half an inch or so in town. The Sawatch have been socked in all day. Gotta be upwards of a foot up high, if not more. We'll see when the clouds clear...
Skiing, whether you're in Wisconsin or the Alps, is a dumbass hick country sport that takes place in the middle of winter on a mountain at the end of a dirt road.

^^^I would doubt that much up high. Most of the moisture with this event slid east before the real cold air moved in. Cloudy and cold with some terrain enhanced snow showers but nothing huge. Gonna be COLD tonight.

Denver is looking at its first snow of the year possibly Fri/Fri night. Temps should be down in the mid-20's.

Let's hope that the moisture patterns from this summer hold out...

If so, the San Juans will be super sketch so all of you best stay away!

I was in Steamboat yesterday, super windy, a tad bit of snow in town, and Mt. Werner was starting to look nice up at storm peak. I ended up in Marble, and white house and the other peaks got dumped on, little snow in town. No snow on Mclure pass.

been a cool fall but I still bet it turns around for some more warm temps before winter really kicks into gear. Gonna be interesting to see if classic El Nino patterns, bad winter for the Pac NW...good for the SW, normal for the central Rockies, hold true for this winter.

Mt Evans was totally white after yesterday. Gets me pumped for winter! Two more trips to Moab, then I'm ready for some snow!
