Yep - at about 70cfs. We heard they are likely going to keep the flow low all summer useless there’s a ton of rain.

There were some 18”-24” rainbows hanging out in all the deep pools...unfortunately they were laughing at our attempts to catch them.

SW Colorado needs to squeeze some rain out of the air. Save the lightning.

I'm sure not enough to make it not good to ride.

By randomness took 93 into boulder yesterday afternoon to see a client and ended up driving straight through the hailing storm front, the long way.
Lots of bummed out stressed people parked on the shoulder of the highway.

This was 20 minutes after I got there so it’s already mostly east of 93 in the pic.

On the topic of water discussion... the Animas River peaked like 5 days ago and is now running at 893cfs in town after crashing hard in the last 24 hours. Typical runoff for this date is between 3k-4k. All the long term locals I know say this is the worst runoff season they have ever experienced here.

We're in for a long, hot summer in the SW. Pray for rain.

When I was there last week they were saying on DurangoTV that it's the worst since a season in the early 70's. Most of the basins are sitting at 11% of normal with that 70's season sitting around 5%.

I saw Engineer from the Animas Overlook and it was basically bare of snow, I wouldn't be surprised if you could ride trails above treeline in that area in the next few weeks. Had some great camping/riding but it was sad to see..

Yeah, southern half of the state looking gnarly. And though the upper colorado basin was looking okay, now it's starting to look like we've already seen peak Glenwood flows at about 6k.

Went up 4th of July TH today solo to scope out what's going on. Not a local, but seems thin. Skywalker's looks rad. Seems like there's some good stuff to hit if anyone wants to make a midweek push...

Finally got a spring weekend up to the elks. What an awesome range, was a pleasure to ski east face of castle peak, conundrum couloir and pearl mountain over two days. Conditions were great but speed melting is underway, maybe only a week or two left before it’s pretty jangis. Hoping to sneak in a pre-work James peak descent middle of next week if anyone is still stoked and wants to join.
