I can attest to the few inches in evergreen. currently dumping in littleton. dont think the slopes will see anything out of it, however.

I like the sound of the CAIC forecast:
"Widespread 1 to 2 foot amounts are likely by Monday morning from about Aspen north"
Especially since I don't work Mondays. I hope you are seeing the same things for Aspen Joel.

1-2 feet with wind and the current crusty snowpack should be fun to deal with. Great time to practice your ski cuts

Gotta be careful with this storm, folks.
My thoughts: http://www.coloradopowderforecast.com/quick-forecast/
Strong dynamics will move through Saturday afternoon and Saturday night, which will lead to the heaviest snow. Sunday AM should be $$$ with highest totals from I-70 and north though Aspen and the northern San Juans will see some snow.
Will moisture and NW flow remains on Sun & Mon, and snow will likely keep falling, I don't think it will fall heavily during this time. The temperatures at 10k and 18k show a bit of warming Sun/Mon, and warm-air adevection does not create heavy snow. The models show plenty of moisture during this time, so they might be over playing the snow.
The next shot at more dynamics come in Mon PM and Tue AM and move from north to south through the state. This is another time of good snow.
Of course with snow falling Sat>Tue, even a few inches each day will pile up into something nice, so don't be fooled if you don't see big totals.
A lot of NW wind will accompany the first part of the storm on Sat and Sat night ... so find some protected areas. The artist formerly known as Colorado Powder Forecast: http://www.opensnow.com

Storm arrived about 6 hours early so it'll snow hard all day and finished up sometime overnight, though if we're lucky the snow could keep going into Sunday AM. Enjoy everything...!
By the way, it's National Weatherman Day. Just sayin:-)

There is no spot in the state right now with fresh, waist deep powder. It's called measuring when you're standing still. If you measure the amount of blower pow that comes up when you're skiing at 15-25mph, then it's probably face deep right now.
We should come up with some distinction between the depth of new snow vs. how high on the body it hits you when you're skiing through it.
Super glad it's dumping in a lot of spots and should continue through most of the day, but let's keep the superlatives in check. If you post a picture of someone standing still with the new, fresh snow up to their waist, then that's saying something.
Not trying to be a buzz kill, but it seems like every powder day this year has been "waist deep".
