How were surface conditions today at Abasin and the prognosis for tomorrow?

the "lack of diversity" thing in mountain towns always cracks me up. In my last condo I could walk down the hall and talk to people from Tibet, Peru, Mexico, and the Czech republic. That I knew of. I'm sure the average cul-de-sac in Highlands Ranch is a bunch more diverse than that, but still...

got up this afternoon and stuck to mostly N to E aspects which had some wet heavy pow that seemed to be consolidating a bit but skiing real well, even where it was chopped up was fun. a couple scratchy spots underneath but overall nice and soft. I am just hoping that holds up through tomorrow and doesn't freeze up tonight, feel like it should be ok. oh and hey now I'm not middle aged

I would never hold up Highlands Ranch as an example of anything diverse

Foggy had a rough week and now he has to share the weekend w a bunch posers from the front range with their graying beards puffy jackets faux carhart styled pants and tons of coreness Colorado stud talk that makes their wives cringe they seemed tobe piling into the short term next door as I was pulling out god have mercy as the front rangers get one more weekend in before pulling the plug

And yeah ski town white had to deal w different people speaking four different languages today vlad was much more angry than normal

I went to Safeway today, in a part to gauge the coming weekend crowd mix. It was 90% rich Mexicans, not one spring breaker/front ranger type. Thankfully they left me some oaxacan cheese, poblanos, and tortillas.

Holy heck there have been a lot of them lately. Always curious when you get those random waves of tourists like that who seem to all be the same ethnicity.

Imperial challenge today, back to mass start format instead of the modified time trial for covid they had last year. Stoked!

Spring break in Mexico at the moment. Coincides with Easter.

Skied Absin from open to 1:00. Great skiing. Snow surface was very nice, almost late February like. The clouds helped. However, the snow on my last run in the more north facing trees in Beavers area seemed to transition to spring. Might be a bit crunchy in tomorrow am with a few inches on crust in the off-piste areas.

    Base seems pretty shallow.

Conditions just kept improving today. Tomorrow should be nice if you have the ability to get out.

Should I tell my boss to push back my year end performance review again. I already pushed it back from Friday AM to ski pow.

Speaking for what I saw at Winter Park, it won't be "put my job in jeopardy" good, but it might be "mildly annoy my boss" good. If it keeps snowing.

Ya know, it’ll be a mediocre Pow day. Just like all the other mediocre Pow days this season. I feel like these days, you could lose your job and get another one in the same day, so is that really a factor?
