Such a good day for my first real tour of the season. Too bad my hands are so low in the second photo — could have been a great snap!

    Colorado Weather Discussion Thread

I’m staying slope-side Friday to Sunday in Snowmass. I’ll be with my wife, 3.5-year-old daughter who just got her cast of last Tuesday for a broken leg and is bummed to not be skiing (so am I) and a just turned 1-year old daughter.

    A few questions:

Anybody have an extra Aspen voucher for a mom who basically took the season off since she was nursing? I’ll pay a reasonable amount. I’m covered via Ikon.

What do you guys suggest for apres/happy hour slope-side at Snowmass and in town that is family friendly? We are used to breweries and restaurants.

Any suggestions for family friendly non-skiing activities that you liked?

Anybody around and want to make some turns? PM me. One caveat is with the little ones I can’t rage all day non-stop.

Not seeing any mention of elevation and snow lines.... a bit skeptical. I always feel like NOAA goes a bit big with the April storms to cause extra warning. However, usually at least one April storm is mega as all FUCK!!!! Hope this is the one!

Will be hitting the Luv Thursday solo & Beaver Creek Friday / Saturday with a work ski trip.

Anything I should try at BC that’s still open? Don’t really know the mountain...

If the conditions are good, royal elk to black bear, thresher, heads up, Keller, stickline, stone creek chutes are all solid assuming you like trees. Otherwise, good bumps with consistent pitch off birds of prey and grouse lifts. Good groomers off centennial. Mellow glades and cruisers on the bachelors gulch side. Don’t bother with arrowhead. Lots of huts at the beav if that’s ur thing. PM me if u have any questions. Great mountain.

Overnight parking allowed @ Herman Gulch or somewhere nearby in Summit? Looking to stash the truck and hitch a ride west to BC tomorrow. Where can I park up there and not cause trouble over the weekend?

Heading to Mary Jane or Copper myself, depending on snow totals... interested? Early departure, probably try to get back to town by 3-ish.

Assuming you have the proper gear, knowledge and a partner... Otherwise, bad advice.

Edit: Its a bad idea to blindly follow strangers into the backcountry, period. People do dumb shit all the time, especially along i70. Don’t follow anyone unless you know where you are going and what your are getting into.

^Wookie is the one you want to follow. Just find him and all is good.

Or anybody on a Weston board, good to go.

^What happened to the Y-chutes? I haven't been back to BC in over a decade.
