Overhyped? We got over two feet. Pretty much what was predicted.

I'd guess the beavers skied well.

Beavers and Steep Gullies skied very well. I did 1 inbounds run down through North Glade -> Timber Glades -> Rock Garden and then went out the gates. Due to the approaching traffic jam, we had lots of ride options after hiking back up to the road on our first lap.

The run that Lurch and I did down Floral Park on Sunday morning was easily one of the best runs of the my life. SO! FUCKING! DEEP!

I did on Saturday. Was fun.

The combination of the 8 mile long line to get into the Basin parking lot, the Sports Authority-shopping crowd, and the wind fucked conditions made me captain of the S.S. Butthurt for Sunday.

You know, I had mixed feelings yesterday about how busy it was at Winter Park. I was pissed I was standing in a line because I normally ski weekdays, but on the other hand there was no way I could be pissed because it was so fucking good. every.single.run.

A few years ago, we just walked back, because we were faster than the cars.

I was figuring a repeat of that for sure... We briefly considered dropping in on that side, but I was betting on a 2 hour lap.

We took 4 laps out there and the longest was still only around an hour. Granted, half of those only required riding Pali.

Don't want to broadcast my exact location on the interwebs but I'm on the Alice side around 10,100 ft elevation. You local?


NOAA reported the official St.Mary's total yesterday @11 AM at 46 inches right around the former glacier. Add the totals after that amount and another 6 inches today.... Scoping out some lines, especially this one....

Yes sir. I'm up here too. Also Alice side, right at 10,000ft. I've been eyeing that line for a few years, but last season I just didn't have time to make it happen.
