The NW flow (oh, how I've missed you) kept the cold & light snow going all morning at the Basin.

Went for a hike on Guenalla Pass. Wind was howling at times, with snow being blow to Kansas.

Thereís a new guy in town: Seth Linden. His reports on FB remind me more of the CO Powder Forecast from the days of yore.

Except it seems Seth has 0 interest in monetizing his hobby -- guessing his NCAR gig pays decent. His chat at Evergreen Brewery last night was a good time.

    Colorado Weather Discussion Thread

NOAA, CAIC, Durango Weather Guy, Seth Linden, Chris Tomer, Open Snow, Powderchaser Steve, am I missing any? So many options...

Powderchaser, Tomer and CAIC's Hi-Res WRF Total Snow model are my go tos. YMMV.

OpenSnow is still great, but when the meteorological stars align, I think he trends conservative on totals.

Open Snow is probably the best predictor of how fucked traffic will be.

Seth and I had a long convo about that model yesterday -- it's his go to as well for 2-3 day snow totals.

Stupid Joel, I-70 ski traffic is all his fault. It definitely has nothing to do with a million extra people moving to CO in last decade.

For Colorado, Thomas Horner, Highpoint Weather. His writing is intelligent, like we're adults capable of critical thinking. I'm really surprised his blog doesn't have more traction. @highpointwx on insta. No fb for me but he's on there, as well.

Meanwhile, Joel is pointing out which state is Colorado. He caters to folk who only scratch the surface of things. It's like eating fast food, no substance, no real meat. I'm so over his hemming and hawing.

Itís much worse when thereís pow day hype. All the joeys head up to flail around for a couple of runs and then sit in the bar for the rest of the day.
