Lots and lots of manmade, plus lots of runs which are really just connections to other runs, but they count separately. They have the Twister bump runs open- they're grass, roots, and rocks in every trough. About as thin as it can be and still be open.

Aspen's basically the same. We have a few good bump lines. Highland Bowl is good in the middle, entrance and exits are thin.
Our saving grace, they buff the WC course every day and nobody's on it, the first couple of hours, but me.

Skied almost a 1000 vert (of hideous windboard) without hitting rocks or roots today (unless you count skinning over a few gravel patches). Woohoo! Felt like an accomplishment considering all the brown out there. This bit was so soft I felt like I'd been transported to Hokkaido:

At least going uphill was nice. Was able to break loose some new windslab stomping on some North and Northeast facing test slopes near the treeline. These were isolated slabs that weren't there two days ago. Nothing that propagated, but worth noting.

Random question: SIA is open to the public, correct? And OR is not? Both are in Denver later this month, at the same time...anyone know how it’s all going to work?

    Colorado Weather Discussion Thread

Thought I would share a few pics from Vail today. I’ve been skiing there for a long time and don’t think I’ve ever seen this much dirt in January.

The last one is from the bottom of the new northwoods lift. Those are blocks of snow/ice that they are using to hold up the poles for the lift maze b/c there is not enough base to drill down into.

Got my first day in. Three sweet runs at Eldora with most of Boulder in attendance (or so it seemed). My kid rocked it.

It won't be open to the public. They're just combining them into one big trade show.

SIA has never been open to the public, although getting a pass wasn't terribly difficult. They are being a bit more strict this year with the combined show.

I thought you could get a pass for the show in the past, to check out the new gear?

Nice! I know of at least 2 people that were up there, sounds like better than nothing. I'll get the girl up soon.
