Sustained winds on the Kendall and Eagle weather stations near Silverton are over 40 MPH right now. Gusting into the low 80s. Woooof.

So weird, it is snowing gently in Leadville, very nice and peaceful. Prolly jinxed it.

    Hey mags,

Sorry to spam ya but we're having a little last minute party with Atomic tonight at Slope Style in Breck. Tim Durtschi will be around and we'll be giving away a pair of Bent 100's along with some atomic swag, also free pizza from Eric's.

Wonder if there will be any snow left on Mcmillan by the time I'm at the top tomorrow?

We are basically going to just get sloppy seconds from the Boat this year again. I don't think we will have much to spare for thirds.

If you're right, and the Boat is the epicenter, I may have to visit the meat man regularly.

I hope I'm wrong, but today was definitely an anomaly. Solid 12" today. That's a lot of dick. It's weird going from mid 40's yesterday to piles of snow everywhere and sleds gassing up at the station.

I was up there two days ago and based on what Kendall looked like when the storm started to clear around 3pm I wouldn't bet on a lot of safely skiable snow above treeline lol.

But it sounds like below treeline on Red was skiing deeper than expected by those who went out today. You'll find decent turns for sure.

Glad the rest of the state had a good day.

CB has been 10+ days ahead of last year as far as openings go. Just need another Betty White.

Soft turns were had near/below treeline. Better than expected, I'll take it.

Aspen’s skiing great on 65% of terrain.
Highlands opener will be off the hook next weekend.
I wouldn’t hesitate to burn an Icon or MC day. From now till Christmas is my favorite time to ski here.
