So breck is actually closing and not extending the weekends?

That is stupid. Snowpack up high is best in summit county right now and there was actually a lot of people skiing considering I was there on a Tuesday and they only have 3 lifts open

Brah you don’t think they can profit when they are only running the lifts at peak 8?

Anyone know the details re: the mountains operating agreement and how they can reopen for weekends etc? Save the last dust event, seems like there will be lots of touring for a while...

I think it varies for each mountain due to the differing terms of their lease agreements.

Excellent coverage. Sunday was really warm so the bottom was getting sticky. And everything will probably be bullet proof if it is cold.

    Slush bumps were good.

Happy end of season! here is my favorite pics of the season, I took them all on my phone I hope you guys enjoy

Although conditions were not perfect this season I skied more than I ever have before. I also spent lots of time skiing with family and friends. I am truly blessed. This was my best season ever with nearly 60 days and 1 million vert!

    I’m stoked

Fucking Mr. Negative here. no wonder nobody wanted to have a beer with me. I wound up face first in a tree well off of Eagle Wind. It wasn't bad but I was alone, and, I took me a while to get out. nobody skied by the whole time I was getting out. What a great way to go, he died doing what he loved: Skiing and bitching about the amount of people on the mountain. Ironically, nobody skied by to see him. It skied great on Saturday, the jane lots were full AF but there was hardly anybody on the mountain, obviously, since its late April.

Agreed with the coverage. Looking forward to 10:30 slush bumps in the sun.

Apparently you can still ski Hughes Little Pierre and Norwegian over on the WP side for some possibility of fresh turns if they get more snow. I mean, do they let you ski whistle stop down to the bottom of Lariat and hike up?

Oh, and I kept forgetting to snap a pic but good going to the huge flyfisherman who put those stickers on the gates at the Super Gauge.

Jong, the self call out. Good to see. We all need it, me included, sometimes.

I think that huge fly fisherman is from around here.

Re: tree well The number to patrol is on the back of the trail map. It rings at dispatch that they can get authorization from the Sheriff's Office to track you by your phone.

Re: skiing The Park Side. It's spring, there are no rules, until there are. It gets done all the time. You are kinda running the gauntlet however. You'd be the guy standing at the base with his ski gear on an no lifts running. Also, with the Zepher replacement going on right now, I'd be staying away from skiing under that lift. You'd be better off skiing Rettas, 'Rigger, Cramhole, or something and exiting on Turnpike. Usually best accomplished by having someone pick up up over by the Timberline Lodge.

Not that I'm any kind of expert at skiing closed terrain at that place.

The fly fisherman stickers are hilarious. Even though I don't understand them.

Thanks Foggy! Kind of a self call out, but skrdshtls Lemmy busted me on it earlier too.

Roger that, I have the number in my contacts. I knew early that I wouldn't be needing assistance but having that number was about the only damn thing I did right in the events leading up to the whole thing.

On the WP territory, thanks for the beta, it sounds like maybe more of an ask for forgiveness over permission kind of situation over there:

An aside about the little tree well adventure for anyone who cares: just pay attention. I don't want to overplay what is essentially a beater in a tree well incident but I did break several rules for no real reason other than not paying attention, wound up head first in and it could have been worse. I blanked on eagle wind all season until last weekend so had no friggin clue about the snow yet I was alone in the trees (OK, that one, I had a reason) but just not giving due regard, maybe because it was kinda skied out. I had my fucking pole straps on too. Heads up.

The last two days, east at Snowmass has popped around 10:30-11:00 @ 11K.

Hitting Abay tomorrow early, if anyone wants to take some runs?
