It's only $10, which in today's dollars is not all that much.

It never ceases to impress just how many people are willing to wait in a 30 minute line for 700 ft. that disappear in under 3 minutes. The demolition derby feed through the Goob Tube is nuts. At least the Comp Center kids have to be there. When the Arrow and Gemini lines merge, you're gonna have a bad time.

But it is par for the course, WP opening is traditionally weak. In my experience, I've experienced opening day Cranmer exactly once (if it wasn't opening day, it was the Saturday after) in the last ~20 years.

Sign of things to come. We're going to get crushed with skier numbers this season. And we're all understaffed.

I was thinking of going to Copper today, but maybe wait til Thursday. People stay home and eat turkey and watch tv, right?

Oh I solved that problem for me 9 years ago. But seeing this shit still infuriates me. I mean really, powder fever over a 600’ vert green run?!

My first skiing this year is going to be on the Birds course. I mean, nothing like jumping right in. Definitely safer than that condensed nonsense going on until we get some snow.

Are they going to be able to make it for the World Cup?

Yeah. They had inspection and got the go-ahead so it’s game on. Won’t get on course until Monday to see how it looks, but reports seem ok and say they have good snow making weather ahead.

Barely a dusting. This shit is looking bleak. Yet sales in the shop are at a record pace, so there's that I suppose......

I manage Slope Style on main st. We're not even doing a black friday deal with the demand we're seeing, I'll always hook up full-time locals but we usually do a decent sized sale for black friday.

I've still been biking on the front range on my days off lately, white ranch was runnin real nice the other day, dry as hell but fast as hell.

"Looks like ski season, calendar says its ski season" and "the skiing is good!" are not the same thing. I'm sure it will play out like every other season. When everyone wants to go skiing it will be busy, when they don't it won't.

When other stuff seems more fun, I'll do that.

Good to hear business is great.

I’m due for a new mtn bike next spring. At this rate, I should probably just get it now.

Yeah, the Elks did OK. Not that the 4" matters, but at least the ground is white, not brown, for the WROD opening.

    Colorado Weather Discussion Thread

Had been hopeful of a start of a change in early Dec but today’s models shifted almost entirely away from that thought and to holding onto this ridge thru at least the 8th.

Pretty slim chance for Bama to lose this weekend but if they do we could see a pattern change as soon as next week. Never know what'll happen in the Iron bowl.

Spoke too soon. Some real fluffy snow building up quick. Thanks, SnowShow, we’re going to be carrying Rocky Mtn bikes this coming summer and will have quite a few coming in for retail if you happen to be interested. It’ll be our first summer doing bikes so none are spoken for yet like other shops.
