thought gaper day was a thing of the past since breck put the smack down on it a few years ago

saw two people crossing the street yesterday looking like complete tourons was shaking my head in disbelief because people never cease to amaze me living in a ski town when you think you've seen it all you haven't
well sure as shit I quickly remembered it was gaper day

Does any of y'all know if Thrift Store Ski Party is still a thing at A-Basin?

I miss the Drinko de Mayo / Cinco de Mono mashup beach party.

I had some good times at Drinko, although my memory of those good times is really fuzzy.

I have a feeling he’s talking about the two dudes, one with a board and one with skis, crossing Park/main on said board/skis. Saw it also haha

I know we are all talking about how warm it is... but holy shit it is so warm. I don't know if it will get barely under freezing in Silverton for two straight nights.

I've got a Cat Canyon trip at the end of the month, if it stays like this we might be getting high water!

Almost 60 in CB today. Don't think I've ever seen it that warm here with the lifts spinning.

Summer runs from April 1-December 1 here, eh? Fall is December and January, winter is February and March is spring. Got it.

Nah. Basically, you have Winter which goes from the middle of December to the Middle of March. This is when it doesn't ever rain at the base of the ski area. The you have Summer which is July 4th to Labor Day. This is when it doesn't ever snow at the base of the ski area.

This rest of it is just called Weather. Resist season change over. Keep the flip flops next to the ski boots year 'round. Do whatever seems most fun on any given day.

I seem to remember a January day in Vail I will guesstimate in ‘09 where the snow line was about 9k+ with rain on the valley floor.

You guys, I understand that Monarch closes April 11 this year. I am think of heading over there on Thursday or Friday. Anybody else?

Yeah, we had rain up to around 9500-10000 feet in early February here. Which I'm actually not complaining about, that shit is good for the base.

C'est possible. Was contemplating Keystone or Beaver Creek for next week. Monarch's fine, though.

    Ok! Friday at Monarch!

I texted whipski, hopefully he'll be there, he's the only local guy I know...
