LL was a little bit of everything. Graby wind crust, nice cream cheese deep enough to cover in places. And other places could find bottom pretty easy.
Hopefully tonight will be enough to fill in.
No beta on the Basin, other than it seemed pretty busy with everywhere else open.

The sun peeked out enough at Vail (after 11 am) to get the snow moist on contact, it was pretty warm ambiently as well. Skid Row even had some creamyness to it at 3:00

freaking breck put up 17" in the last two days and they're still forecasted for more.
i'm thinking maybe much miore as their forecasted highs are still about 5 degrees lower than the average. breck did something right this year, its been getting smacked around by snowstorms worse than a kid in their first year at catholic school.TGR forums cannot handle SkiCougar !

Snowmass has not disappointed. 18" over 48, but skiing more like 8". Backcountry will be going off tomorrow.

People come out in droves to ski a sheet of man made crap in November... then in late March we get 18" in two days on top of a great base so you can rip the absolute shit out of everything and there's nobody on the mountain. What a country!

People are just more spread out in the spring because all the terrain is open as opposed to just the WROD.
But yeah, it is sad many years when many resorts could easily stay open for a few more weeks at least but people lose interest. Spring skiing is so fun, but people are burnt out because they started in October and just want to enjoy the warm weather.
I ain't complaining, the last few days on the hill I've seen no lines, and untracked snow all morning.

Pretty damn awesome today, but yeah, we saw a small wet slab and some sluffing today. Crazy how just a couple of hours of sun will saturate the upper pack.

I think everyone went somewhere other than the basin today. absolutely EMPTY, they didn't even have the lot full sign at the lower lot at all. Even Pali had freshies late in the day.

Fun day on Vail Pass. Snow was excellent and also very reactive on steeper E/NE near/below treeline. Only saw the new storm/wind slab moving, but there's a good 18-24"+ of that, so definitely enough to cause a problem. And just below the sliding surface (melt/freeze crust) is another layer of storm snow from the last storm under-layed by another melt/freeze crust. (sandwiching going on). Reactive results ECT11 on that layer as well, so definitely the probability to step down beyond the newest layer, and then after that the midpack is pretty solid...but that could be enough of a load to involve the lingering deep persistent slab.
I french kissed Kelly Kapowski.

Colorado Weather Discussion Thread
A basin was all time today. East wall was in prime, untouched condition. Sick lines all over the place. Should still be good tomorrow if you hike, below the traverse was pretty well tracked.
Edit to add: avoid 1st notch. Shark fest in there.
