    Probably about 6" of fresh on sun crust and still snowing when I left Berthoud this AM. Managed to avoid rocks by skiing super mellow stuff. Nice to have first day out this season be on fresh natural snow.

    Plus, turns out these Freerides are pretty $$$. Not bad for $50 as a rock touring ski.

    Yeah, right around 12" up at ~11k' at Breck. It made for some really good conditions on top of what fell earlier this past week. I love it when the forecast is WRONG in a good way.
