I have so many friends who have worked at Calwood. I can name down that list, and what they have given my life.

I live a block away from the last gen., but very far away.

I've been up in those hills, a lot. I know them like the back of my hand.

While I don't call them home, I wish for them to have one.

    Someday, again.

East Troublesome Fire exploded from 19k acres yesterday morning to 125k acres this morning........that's hard to even comprehend. Looking at the fire mapping on Inciweb it does look like most of Grand Lake was spared so far? Hard to tell. Damn, this totally sucks......vibes to those affected. Snow can't get here soon enough.

    Today

This looks completely fucked. And certainly will get worse until snow flies Sunday.

So, the 3 largest fires in Colorado history will all be in 2020. Great.

30,000 -> 125,000 acres in 24 hours. It's well established in the park, all the way up to Haynach Lake area.

Grand Lake is my favorite mountain town in CO. I'm far from a local, but I've spent countless days up there. Drinkin' at the Roadhouse, hiking the park, hunting, ice fishing, doing redneck things on Stillwater, etc. It's such a gorgeous area and has a special place in my heart. The police scanner last night was awful, homes ablaze everywhere. I hope when the smoke clears the damage isn't too apocalyptic.

This one really stings, especially when my best friend is sweating bullets wondering if his house on 4 is OK. Its quite depressing knowing the area will not look the same for a decades, and that many people’s homes were reduced to rubble

And in late summer -> fall taboot. That's never been the case before, thanks to the 'nonsoon' season of 2020.

A friend of mine watched the wall of fire take his house as he was scrambling out of his neighborhood a couple miles southwest of the town. His business is likely gone too. He's thinking some of his neighbors didn't get out. Scary, so sad for a lot of people.

Can anyone point me towards a map of the fire around 36 outside of Lyons? More specifically how Apple Valley Estates and Pinewood Springs are doing. Much appreciated.

    Boulder County OEM map

Shows Calwood but not Cameron Peak. I’d check inciweb for CP.

Heard from Foggy via another channel this morning, he is good, fairly well south of the fire. The general situation in Grand Lake sounds... not good.

Goodbye to the west side of RMNP, it was nice knowing you.
Talk about a flood of emotions today. One of my favorite zones burning to a crisp, my best friend nervously awaiting if his property is toast, and off to the hospital this evening for labor induction.

Thank you guys very much. I still have a few friends in the area and a special attachment. Especially all the stealth mountain bike trails that I'm sure have blown up.

They sure don't need this so soon after the flood.
