Sweet. My boy is four so his class only goes until 12:30, so carpooling probably won't work anyway. See you in a few weeks.

Vail was fairly quiet for a Saturday. Xmas shopping or afraid to come over the pass? Either way...

I heard a similar report from Breck today.....not particularly busy. Lots of people in town tho.

Steamboat reported 3” overnight and had more like a foot on top of the mountain. They are now showing 9” in the last 24 hours - kind of revisionist history. No one on the mountain. Was a pretty special day.

They'll be marking out compact car parking spots also...too big? Park in Keystone and take the shuttle.

Early riser lot was noticeably less crowded. We pulled in at 10 with 4 in our car and had our choice of 2 beach spots on Saturday but as others have said it was pretty quite (for a Saturday).

Yesterday was pretty dead too. Snow was great and no crowds. Had 4 in our car too but rolled right in at 1pm and got a spot.

All these reports of things being more quiet than normal. Fewer tourons this year?

It is actually always kinda slow until Christmas, but there's not usually this much terrain open so people are usually more concentrated onto a few runs. With some mountains close to 100% open, it is really spreading people out. The new terrain at the Basin for instance is really spreading people out and reducing lift lines quite a bit. Parking is still the crux.

Parking today was free in the early riser - but some peeps still needed their money's worth?

Basin skied great today. Plenty of soft goodies if you know where to find the soft goodies, hoping it keeps up all day and night. Would make for a rad Christmas like last year

The way Christmas falls, there are half of many students on winter break during the week before Christmas as there were last year.

Pre-Christmas bookings throughout the West are down. Last year's poor December snow conditions are a factor as well.

GREAT day at Vail. Snowed hard most of the morning and it was pretty empty. Didn’t wait in one line. Loving this season!

I'm bringing my mini mag out soon, earliest Jan, she's a newbie, hard when you live in Maui at 10 to rip, but lets hook up, the Whiz will inspire her!

I might head to Home Depot later today, thinking the cold will keep the crowds low, probably check out the cordless drills. Peace
