Yeah, someone flipped a switch for sure. Sad thing is that it looks dry after this. Ignoring the depth hoarz conversation, it'll be a long fall mud season for us. I think I'll be making a lot of trips to Gunnison this month.

Huh? How long have you lived in CO? I mean, even the weather people knew this was coming and they are only right 50% of the time.

This pretty much solidifies our plans for the desert.

Al and Abasin conceded to Wolf Creek per his latest blog update...

"As soon as I know when we are going to open, I will let you guys when we are going to open. For now, go enjoy a weekend of skiing at Wolf Creek (kudos to those guys). Stay tuned for details on our opening."

Certainly debatable whether weekends-only counts in the official race to open, but sounds like WC will have the first lift served turns of the year.
    go upside down.

It's funny that none of the headlines on the local news websites mention Wolf Creek by name in the headlines... maybe it's just standard clickbait, but it seems odd since it's usually "A-Basin to Open First" or "Loveland Wins as Earliest to Open" every year.

I think this has more to do with the marketing departments of the ski areas than the news orgs. Loveland sends every news outlet a press release every time someone spits at Loveland and it sorta looks like snow.

My out of left field comment didn't mean that this recent weather wasn't forecasted. I just mean we went from warm as shit, biking, etc, to "SKI SEASON HAS STARTED" in the blink of an eye.

🌧️ This week sure has been a wet one! As of 3pm today, we have received 2.34" of #rain here at the Grand Junction airport in the past 7 days, which ties for the 6th wettest 7 day period in our records... which goes back to 1893! #COwx

Thanks for the laugh. I guess we all gotta learn somehow. Nice example of an early season wind slab. This strikes me as one of those posts that when (hopefully if?) he grows up he’ll look back on and say “wow, I was a fucking wanker”.

I guess he officially got the 2018/2019 avalanche season underway.

It wasn’t the actions leading up to it that struck me as immature, it was the reaction and actions after.

Edit: Actually I take that back, if that music playing in the background is coming from a speaker he’s carrying then actions prior to the slide were just as bone headed as actions after. Did carrying speakers so everyone in the BC has to listen to your crappy music make it in the “what not to do in the BC thread?”

I'm riding that back seat barcalounger, with a side of hoars, pov'ing my shit into the opening day de-virginizing of the lift, with the epic iconic first pibber at the bar to claim my season, and ridin' that shit to the road, switch, bitch.
