Face shots will now be limited with all that traffic focusing on shots like that.

Wtf were they thinking with some of this?

On the bright side, it looks like there will not be traversing across the steep gullies to the lower gate because the lower gate looks like it is strictly for access to janitors only?

People will cut into lower 1st from there. Been doing that for years.

Ptarmigan and Marmot! How original! Wonder how many snow fences they plan to put up to hold snow up there.

I still wanna cry when I look at this. Looks like my happy place has been renamed to Jaeger. I always knew it as West Timbers. RIP.

"Westwoods" was always good when everything else was tracked. Held good snow because of those trees.

I could rant about this expansion for days, but I'm really trying hard to move past it and just try to make the best of it.

Well, if they don't expand parking, just means good snow lasts longer all over the mountain, at the expense of sweet sidecountry.

I just don't get why they didn't keep most of the traditional names. I have a pic from one of the old ski patrollers that has everything labeled with correct names. Marmot and ptarmigan are so generic.

Right.. not sure what they are going to do about rectifying the parking situation, but as it currently is ABasin never feels to crowded to me and the pow lasts for a day or two in a lot of places...

Damn -- that's purdy. Can you share hike deets?

No photos because I was having too much fun, but road the West Jefferson segment off Georgia pass yesterday. That descent is the tits and saw no-one else out there. Weather was perfect up there, but near 90 today down in the city. Please hurry fall.

Don't give me that turn shit, it's 90 in the city.
Sign me up for whatever last year was, Indian summer to thanksgiving, then the winter jets for 2 months straight.
I did see the thermometer dip into the 30s ever so quickly heading up to Meadow Creek today, so I dig that.

I was in Eagle over the weekend and there's a lot of red and yellow in the brush above 8,000 feet already. Saw a few aspens up above 9,000 with a hint of yellow too.

If you are where I think you are, that ain't 13K. Top of Perry's gets you there.
Elk bugling, dusting on the peaks, aspens going gold, cool NW wind, less RadBros out and about, that's the turn.
Wish CO consistently had longer falls.
    YMMV.

This is just off Mt Flora, which tops out at 13,132'. Maybe it's just under 13k...

    Agree about longer falls.
