Bummer for sure. Get surgery done ASAP, it's amazing what a difference ripping through a few weeks of scar tissue can have on the rehab. Wishing her a quick recovery!

Really sorry to hear. Does that mean no trip to SD? I sent some ideas...

    ACLs are tough injuries- vibes.
Looks like flakes are falling all over the state, even in the city. Keep it coming.

Any idea how to deal with this when taking a rental car? I emailed a few and they all say their SUVs have all seasons and that chains are not permitted on rental cars? Don't want to get to Denver just to find out I cannot make it to BC/Vail.

BigLine, that was a joke. State troopers are not putting roadblocks up on interstates. Plus, if chains were required on all vehicles due to weather, its better just to shut it down IMO...

I doubt their all seasons are severe snows, but 4wd/awd is better than nothing

The passenger car chain law in the San Juans is snow tires, chains, OR 4wd/awd. Im sure its the same on 70 now.

If you do run in to issues just drop a line, there are plenty of Mags in the area to bum rides with.

Knife Ridge & Horseshoe are closed today. Rept'ing 52 inches at the summit. Likely some chutes that could be skied/ridden but also some sketchy areas. How big of a risk taker are you? Maybe let the latest snow settle & wait for the new storm to do its thing? My two cents; have a good one.

We crushed Loveland pass today. Short runs but with a well oiled shuttle crew much fun can be had. Temp was low, but the stoke was high. Just remember the avy danger is not over till you are in the truck. We had a little eye opener on one of our exits. Click image for larger version.

Quite surprised to see "OPEN" for all the Challenger chutes this morning at MJ. Awe Chute had excellent coverage! Parsenn Bowl was pretty wind scoured though...

The areas around the Indian Peaks are holding snow quite well.... there's been an unusual lack of wind lately.
