Salida report: snow line looks to be around 7500-8000’ over on Methodist, no snow on the ground at my house, and the foothills north of town look dry. The Sawatch range is socked in, normally I can see Shavano out my front window.

Stoked that Monarch picked up ~6” overnight and even more stoked I might be able to get another Cottonwood hot lap before it closes for wildlife protection on the 15th.

    CB flexing big time fo’sho.
The older I get, the faster I was.

    Punch it, Chewie.

    Damn he seems cool.

Holy Fuck Yeah! Nothing steep enough to ski this much snow is open, but at least we have the start of a base and it looks like winter now. Hoping for a bit more before the shift to NW flow turns it off, and the storm early next week looks promising too.

Love that WSW flow (or really, W or WNW). CBAC just reported 4" SWE for Schofield. So yeah, 48" is possible.

It's CO. Even 10 seems like an impossible number to reach some years.

I have no idea what the play is today. Go early for the 6 runs that are open? Wait a while and hope they pull a few ropes? I have low expectations either way, just excited about what this did for the base.

Agreed. I would have thoughts that the lifts would have been ski on.

Never seen so much snow in Silverton from a single storm and massively deep on Red Mountain Pass. Too deep to do any real skiing honestly. The wallowing uphill was better than downhill on anything ~30 degrees. Three days ago I was riding my bike around town without snow in sight, now we are completely buried. Thanks Ullr!
