Even Joel’s latest says he’s not optimistic into early Feb. Little dribs and drabs of snow (his words).

Just sold my spot for $140. That might be the highest price ever paid for a lift ticket.

Yeah yeah, I know... The one time I'm an optimist rather than a realist. Just...trying something different...

What a crap season. I pretty much decided last month to chase sunshine instead of pow on the rare days I do ski. It's working out so far.

There were a LOT of people. But seems like the vast majority have no idea where to go at Wolf Creek and I had zero issues finding full, untracked lines until I left at 2:00pm.

    Tomorrow should be interesting.
You should have been here yesterday!

I’m lined up for Monday. Hopefully a smaller shitshow. And hopefully enough snow to give my big kid Shiros a proper day.

I just went to make a reservation for tomorrow and it looks like they are making you reserve 48 hours out now instead of shutting it down at 8pm then night before. I know yesterday and today were a shit show up there, but I'd love to hear from anyone who went today about how it was.

Is there a rule of thumb for opening the t-bars? Like how many inches of base?

I was at WC this weekend. Yep I bit on the forecast, but this season has been crap so why not.

Line to pick up tickets was a mess with so many purchasing day tickets. If you weren't in line early you were waiting a while. On the drive up from South Fork, the camper lot looked full. Saturday it took them a while to open Alberta 9:45 (I think?) after about a two or three runs the lift line got pretty bad and we bailed to other lifts. Good amount of snow, but not great quality.

Today seemed even crazier with lots maxed including the CDOT lot across the highway. Again we got two good runs on Alberta and bailed as the lift line wait just didn't seem worth it when we could ski on to others and still ski some nice snow. Today's snow was much fluffier.

I'm sure this was an absolute shitshow for locals, but sadly as a front ranger this wasn't that bad.

Next time I'll target a weekday, but for me still felt the trip this weekend was worth it. Nice to not be hitting rocks.

Hopefully, weekends and seasons like this will help WC fund a future expansion into bigger terrain like they've been planning for years.

My understanding is yes, but its also a pretty big gray area. Problem with a year like this is all that terrain is just facets and rocks, though patrol gets up there as soon as they can and does a ton of work. Ran into a troller buddy today that said he's already destroyed two sets of sticks this year.
