Salida report: snow line looks to be around 7500-8000’ over on Methodist, no snow on the ground at my house, and the foothills north of town look dry. The Sawatch range is socked in, normally I can see Shavano out my front window.
Stoked that Monarch picked up ~6” overnight and even more stoked I might be able to get another Cottonwood hot lap before it closes for wildlife protection on the 15th.
CB flexing big time fo’sho.

Holy Fuck Yeah! Nothing steep enough to ski this much snow is open, but at least we have the start of a base and it looks like winter now. Hoping for a bit more before the shift to NW flow turns it off, and the storm early next week looks promising too.

Well, at least the places I like to ski aren't brown...

Vail skied great and they got some more runs open but holee fuck was it a shit show. 4 was 45 min wait...3 slammed, 2 slammed,
Just an absurd amount of people. Felt good to ski soft snow though. Tomorrow is going to be an EPIC disaster.

Agreed. I would have thoughts that the lifts would have been ski on.

No lines at the basin and they opened a few new runs. Amazing what 3” will do (is not what she said).

Never seen so much snow in Silverton from a single storm and massively deep on Red Mountain Pass. Too deep to do any real skiing honestly. The wallowing uphill was better than downhill on anything ~30 degrees. Three days ago I was riding my bike around town without snow in sight, now we are completely buried. Thanks Ullr!
