We should be T to B soon, but we certainly can use another storm to get a few things opens soon.

Hey Lightning, if you press the enter key twice it will move your cursor down a couple lines and you can write more than one paragraph per post.

Good to feel some biting cold today. Below zero wind chills and single digits at tree line.

Grooming report showed new terrain today. Another storm maybe 11 and 7 wind up.

    Top of 3 yeah?

I love fresh tracks but I must admit I have never had "first dump on grass rocks ect no compaction underneath fresh tracks"…..

It actually wasn't bad. The snow was really good and I don't mind a few shrubberies.

Report back. Thinking of putting some miles in just to get skinning legs in shape this weekend. Was thinking Current / First creek though.

Yeah -- planning on just wandering up / down skin track. Need to get in shape before mid-Jan hut trip.

Curious -- what's your "good to go" snotel reading?

Am I descending a grassy knoll or a rock garden?
Generally speaking, I'd prefer double that to even think about some areas, but I'm a bit of a BC wuss.
    Hut trip will be sweet!

I hiked up Butler Gulch last weekend. Although far from enough coverage to ski for my taste, there were a few people skinning up. Not sure if they were going to attempt to ski anything, only about boot deep at most until above treeline when it went to knee deep. Someone with a chainsaw please remove a couple big trees blocking the path?

11's opening this morning was nice. Lots of saplings to dodge, or not, depending on number of fucks given. Look for 5 and 9 to go this weekend. (probably first thing, as that is how things have been going this year)

Bring your rock skis. But it was really good.

Powder turns were good, and areas of 6-7 turns with no bones.

    I was pleasantly surprised

That's exactly what I did. I just went to get my legs moving. But the skiing was fun. But only on rock skis
