That’s just awesome. I haven’t been skiing yet this season, I feel like such a slacker!

Wasn't cleared from the last storm. About 11 of that is old snow. Still nice to see them getting some.

Probably about 6" of fresh on sun crust and still snowing when I left Berthoud this AM. Managed to avoid rocks by skiing super mellow stuff. Nice to have first day out this season be on fresh natural snow.

Plus, turns out these Freerides are pretty $$$. Not bad for $50 as a rock touring ski.

The have a lot of holes. Skis only.

$50 but I had to drive within 5mi of odd13 brewery. Which means I spent more than $50.

There's at least a foot base around 10k' on Vail.

    Knee deep (to the ground):

Yeah, right around 12" up at ~11k' at Breck. It made for some really good conditions on top of what fell earlier this past week. I love it when the forecast is WRONG in a good way.

I used to hike 2 hours for 10 minutes of turns on 207 gs skis, without needing “skins” or “hike mode.” Tell me again how I’m a gaper.

Hoosier was fun on Friday, Berthoud was fun yesterday. No base damage whatsoever!
