I really need to put my boots on and watch TV for a few hours.

That's a good idea. I'm usually figuring out sock thickness on the hill. Not optimal.

Safe below treeline, pine needles for a buffer.

Looks like a decent storm coming in this week. By the looks of pics from my friends skiing Keystone, we need it badly.

Dodgers lost and knocked out which has to be a sign the world isn't totally lost and we should hopefully get some good snow this winter.

I can't imagine the stupidity SAR has to deal with on a regular basis....lost hiker declines calls because SAR number is "unknown".. https://gearjunkie.com/news/mt-elber...Hk67IJ1vmsqobU

That was one of the more entertaining storm arrivals I've seen. From a few poofy clouds to a whiteout with snow blowing sideways in an hour.

I assume CDOT is short plow drivers this season? Going to be a long season of shutdowns every time there’s an angry inch of snow.

This time of year is just always the slickest. Warm roads, temps around freezing points, cars that haven’t switched over to winter tires yet, etc etc. but yeah, the lack of plows is going to create some interesting situations for the weekend Pow days.

I'm 3 miles north and west of Buff pass, the snow is so wet and heavy it's coming down fast like rain. Not sticking to roads yet and just light accumulation on grassy areas, temps hovering right at 31. It's a gloppy mess. This should take down the rest of the leaves, however.

At what point does Abasin typically get lower mountain greens like Wrangler and Sundance open?

I think Sundance usually opens pretty shortly after High Noon. Weather dependent obviously. Wrangler takes slightly longer because they move their focus to the upper mountain after Sundance opens. Hopefully this weather keeps up and it is all open very soon though.

It isn’t the first time this fall he seems to have called for way more snow than most others and busted on the forecast. I think he is hyping up the early storms because it gets him the clicks and subscribers early season. I’m not a fan.

What did he overhype? I'm not saying he hasn't before but he said "4-8 inches for most mountains with a few outliers". Based on what I'm seeing this morning, that's exactly what happened.
