Colorado Weather Discussion Thread
Back to Sam’s today. Skiing with my daughter and her friend (and her dad). Who knew teenagers could be so cool?
Things are starting to get sun-affected. No signs of instability. I probably won’t ski again until we get a refill, but there’s plenty of good skiing out there, especially in the alpine.
I’ve had a good early season down here in SW CO.
We didn’t dig any pits today, but there was about 15cm of the newer snow (from Tuesday) sitting on a pretty significant sun crust (East face, around 11000’). No whumping or fracturing or any signs of instability.

A solid 2" of fluff on my deck at the boat, but at least it's cold. Sun starting to peak out now.

I can confirm that Eldora is open and there is skiing available there. That's about all I can say.

Shoveled the eventual 3" off my deck around 3:30 and then it proceeded to dump another 4" in about an hour. Go figure.
I hiked up to 9500' yesterday to a little point behind the house, the higher up you went, the more dry the trail became. I bet it's like that again later this week, mid-forties and sunshine for the foreseeable future. But Steamboat got their snow on opening day so now they can advertise the shit out of it all week. Meh.
