Well...ya know...except last year when it snowed and rained all May and the year before that. Ski seasons over. Time to wear flip flops and bitch about the weather until July 4th.

Got to the top of my line a little too early yesterday, little out of practice and a bit harder of a freeze than expected. Ah well. Going to be lots of wet activity all week but next weeks temps are looking a bit more promising.

Random question, but someone here may know. Is there reliable internet access in and around the Fairlplay and Alma areas both in and outside of town? What’s your observation/experience?

Didn’t use to be but now I get an extended LTE signal along most of 285 towards BV through sprint.

I always got it at the cafe at the intersection, but they may not be open. Maybe WiFi is. Never had a problem with cell.

Oregon’s ski areas can reopen with conditions per the Governor. Wonder how that will work.

Wind sure kept the freeze around today, didn’t find that corn.

Similar to Mt. Baldy in California... I think as long as they have a plan, it'll be fine. Other than the base lodge, there's nowhere on the mountain that people are coming in close contact with each other, especially if they limit capacity.

How will they limit capacity? Lottery amongst pass holders?

Does anybody here have suggestions for a few good resources that explain how to use the vast array of forecast tools available today? I've used sites like windy, spotwx, etc. to try to get detailed weather data, but in all honesty doubt I'm applying all of the information correctly. For instance, I never remember what models are better for mountain weather, which ones are better for short term forecasting and which ones to use for longer term trends.

    How did Baldy handle it?

I think crowds are going to be a big problem at ABasin unless they figure out how to limit capacity.

I’m struggling with the government saying it’s okay for business to open tomorrow where people can’t maintain 6’ separation (retail stores, hair salons, etc.), but we’re still not allowed to drive to recreate >10 miles from our house.

If I fill up my car I’m Denver and drive to a river for a few hours of fly fishing, what is the risk? That I get in an accident on the way?

As someone who was in favor of the strict lockdown early, I’m starting to question the ongoing nature of certain aspects of it. Maybe I’m just tired of being locked in the house with 2 kids under 4...
