Rained for all of about 3min at my house. For those keeping score, I live at 8500 in the Fraser River Valley. Since the ski area closed (Early May), we have had measurable precipitation twice. Once around May 16th when we had a full soaking grappel storm for about 2 hours. Another around June 20th where we got a full afternoon of heavy rain.
Even the 2002 fire season was not close to this dry in the mountains (from memory). It really is something people are aware of all day. Wind, lightning, jackasses...this tinder box is on edge.

San Juans are back fully open for business. Eagle county, at least up valley, is still silly dry. Tomorrow looks stormy, we’ll see.
Sprinkled for about 4 or 5 min.....so that’s something I guess.Last edited by montanaskier; 07-15-2018 at 07:40 PM.

First, a request for any intel on conditions off Rollins Pass (say Skyscraper) and or Mt Toll/Navajo area. Thanks in advance!!!
Second, some recent pics from around Jasper in IPW and also looking back at Arapahoe Skywalker.
South side of Jasper bowl (Gaiterade, Snow Leopard) still filled in, but have significant cornices (zoom in) and no Snow Lion
The smaller (but still pretty decent vertical) snowfield further east along that ridge is in pretty good shape, just get there early and hopefully can still connect all the way through, working skiers left
Good snowfield up in "north Jasper" bowl (one over from Snow Lion)... but just far, far away!
Jasper NE flank and lower gully all melted out
Skywalker pretty melted out
Thanks all!!!

Skyscraper has snow, not sure what kind of condition report you need.

Anyone bothering to ski the crap that’s out there right now is only doing it to be Insta-famous.

Heavy smoke from the Lake Christine fire in Vail this morning. Vis dropped to less than 2 miles. Throat, eyes, and lungs don't feel too good.

Ended up riding up in Zuma and air quality wasn't terrible. One of those rides where it feels like it could dump rain any second, but never did. Glad we went.

95 degrees in Carbondale when I drove through this afternoon, and the Lake Christine fire keeps getting bigger. Jesus H Christ, when are the rains coming?
