Now is it just time for spring shreds and the occasional storm again?

Glad he's really narrowing in on a range there....really putting his neck on the line....might be safer to go with 0"-40"

Man, you guys can be some haters. I think he's done a pretty good job at predicting snowfall amounts this year.

I don't generally use the term that Foggy and others do, Wanker Park. But right now I am feeling it's appropriate.

My daughter is in a ski lesson on Saturday, and I suggested to her that Sunday morning, before we head home, we could do a couple of hours on the race course. She ran it a bunch one day at the end of the season last year and LOVED it, and I want her to catch the ski bug. So I went searching to find out what time the course opens on Sunday morning. Come to find out, Winter Park has decided to scrap NASTAR this year, there is no race course, period. That is so lame for my family. Given how lame I expect it's going to be next year because of the Ikon pass, maybe we'll switch resorts. Which kind of bums me out, Winter Park has been my home mountain for the last 10 years or so.

Keystone usually has a NASTAR course last I checked.

Yeah, according to NASTAR's site, both Copper and the Boat have NASTAR. Ski Cooper as well. According to montanaskier, Vail ditched NASTAR but still has a public race course, so that's probably the same for Keystone.

I'm just pissed, my kiddo is a good skier for being 7, and she likes it a lot sometimes, but hasn't caught the bug. She doesn't ask to go skiing, and sometimes complains about having to go skiing. The race course was something she really enjoyed, that we were hoping to use to get her to catch the bug.

Winter Park offers an uber expensive comp program for the "budding ski racer", if you can shell out over a $1000 and be there every weekend, for a kid who doesn't know if she wants to be a ski racer. Wankers.

Danno, I think "this year is the last year for NASTAR". They want to use the space to expand the park.

As of a couple weeks ago, the course was still there.

You didn't like the banked slalom thing or whatever the fuck their calling it, that they put on the nascar track?

Yesterday on the drive to the hill I noticed they groomed Norwegian and it looked real smooth. I made the whole crew go over there to blast Hughes to Norwegian. Closed for a race course. Should have known.

Winter Park Resort parts with NASTAR

    https://www.skyhinews.com/news/winter-park-resort-parts-with-nastar/

"Replacing NASTAR is the competition center's skill course.
The course is maintained daily, and is meant to simulate a boardercross course with jumps and berms. The course is used by the competition center, ski and ride school, and is free and open to the public on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
Hurlbert said that groups still looking to participate in NASTAR can contact the competition center before visiting, and the race crew may be able to set a course up for them, provided there's enough time and manpower.
"It was a really tough decision for us," said Hurlbert. "NASTAR has been a part of our resort since 1997. But I think if people check out the skills course they're going to be really impressed. Our terrain park and slope maintenance people have done a great job constructing it, and I think it's just a cool, new thing that he have here for people to enjoy.""
