I went over to Keystone to grab my daughter's free epic pass. What a shitshow. I almost gave them back the pass after seeing the more than EPIC crowd cramming on 1 run. No way am I skiing with her until more opens.

Aspen, please join WP/Copper/CB/SS and form a huge new pass. I'm yours for the taking.

Not gonna happen, the Epic Pass is un-rival-able, these are not the droids you're looking for.

Anybody know what the conditions are at dry gultch? Is there enough snow to skin up the trail and back down the trail?

    Sounds like top roping.

Ever do multi pitch trad routes in Eldorado or Lumpy Ridge? I haven’t climbed in 15 years since had kids but some of those days 4 or 5 pitches up hanging your tea kettle out into space at a hanging belay of cams and stoppers rank up there with ski mountaineering days. Almost.

The fact that I just spent 3 weeks climbing literally at the beach illustrates the difference in our preferences.

Totally, that's why I had to throw the word cragging in there. Highlight of my climbing career was a multipitch route in the Crestones, which was a ton of fun

Road bed up dry gulch looked okay yesterday afternoon, but that was just on the drive by; I haven't been up there for a couple of weeks. Half a dozen trucks at the gate yesterday midday.

Is this not a characteristic of some La Nina years?

I think it is. But that doesn't help the butthurt from setting in.

Time to get into mountain biking.

In Telluride next week. Looking for some local mags that may be out on mtb trail, ski touring, or jonging down the WROD.

Temps are at least finally at snowmaking levels around here so maybe you'll even have a WROD at T-ride next week. Wasn't looking good for a while there.

Anyone been up around Leadville with some beta? Looking for a place to put in some vert and would rather not do it at busy resort uphills. Was thinking something off Rollins, Mayflower gulch / Gold Hill, Mt Arkansas.

Else maybe I'll try Hidden Valley.

And yes -- the skis are $30 early season specials so I'm happy to beat them to fuck.

What resorts have uphill during operational hours? Aspen and ABasin are the only ones I can think of...
