It is windy! And still snowing a bit. It's so nice walking through the snowy woods when it's not yet too deep.

Sounds like the focus this year is to get the upper mountain open first then go back to the lower mountain, at least as far as snowmaking efforts are concerned.

10" in Telluride and 15" on Red Mountain Pass. The San Juans did great and it's nearly time to go ski some rocks. I wish my skis weren't in SLC till next week.

I was close to heading to Red Mountain this morning, but am working some OT instead. Kind of wish I went skiing...

Oh I was wrong. I looked at Abasin before they updated the snow report and WP just had a dusting on the webcam I glanced at. I guess Joe was right and I was wrong that he said things would be bigger than they were.

Got it. I’d like to get my 3.5 year old out on a weekday soon.

The NW flow (oh, how I've missed you) kept the cold & light snow going all morning at the Basin.

Went for a hike on Guenalla Pass. Wind was howling at times, with snow being blow to Kansas.

There’s a new guy in town: Seth Linden. His reports on FB remind me more of the CO Powder Forecast from the days of yore.

Except it seems Seth has 0 interest in monetizing his hobby -- guessing his NCAR gig pays decent. His chat at Evergreen Brewery last night was a good time.

NOAA, CAIC, Durango Weather Guy, Seth Linden, Chris Tomer, Open Snow, Powderchaser Steve, am I missing any? So many options...

Powderchaser, Tomer and CAIC's Hi-Res WRF Total Snow model are my go tos. YMMV.

OpenSnow is still great, but when the meteorological stars align, I think he trends conservative on totals.
