The latest blog update for North America (the first of 2020, finally) from my perspective. Colorado is likely to get more snowfall in a mid February pattern change in the long term.

In the next week or so, much of the mountains in Western Colorado are expected to get snowfall starting on Monday morning, and continuing through to Wednesday morning.

I'm curious; how did your Dec. and Jan. long term forecasts match up with reality?

This is sound advice depending on your quiver.

I've also gone and swapped out skis mid day as conditions have changed, as you go right passed/through the parking lot every run.

Total sleeper 12” day at Loveland. 16” in leeward spots.

Can’t believe a quiet day is possible with social media.

Plenty left in the trees and 9 didn’t run, but that will be windfucked. It was howling above treeline.

Are they a AAA member? If so, this deal for Copper is probably as good as it will get, outside of asking an IKONer for a 25% off buddy pass the day of. https://www.colorado.aaa.com/discoun...ountain-resort

A Basin still sells 4 pack hard tickets, so they can be found on CL from time to time, being sold by folks who bought a 4 pack in the early fall.

    That's all I got...

The trees on Berthoud Pass were pretty great yesterday. Bottomless turns and face shots were had.

If anyone has plans to stay at the Geneva Basin hut this season, please send me a PM. I cached some Duraflame logs in the fall, but won’t make it this season and am happy to share.

Got lucky during the one day I ski every year at WP and caught a tow and some directed skiing on the cirque, which was money. Otherwise remembered why I only ski one day a year at WP.

I don’t know, I think the trees at the Jane are pretty special.

Berthoud was good this morning. Sunny spots will likely be crusty tomorrow.

Yesterday was one heck of a sleeper, hardly any lines around Breck and just crazy good blower. Today was stupid busy but still fun.

This storm definitely put down the base we have needed to go full on.

Hit the Basin this afternoon and caught 4 laps in the steep gullies. Super rocky entrances but good in the guts. Then popped a few powder pillows before Pali closed. Amazing how much longer the pow is hanging around this season.

Keep talking about it and everyone will buy an Abasin pass. That's fine, Loveland will still be dead.

    FIFY

Honestly I don't care, but I'd think the Basin could become a stand alone resort like LL. But who can really have a long term plan in this environment anyway?
