It's steep and gets as much snow as anyone but Jay and is never crowded. They could use the money, buy a ticket and ski Burke for a day, it doesn't suck.

And who the hell wants to ride a high speed detachable Poma lift.

I had some killer pow days there in my days at BMA. It has some killer terrain for a small mountain.
Can't wait to take a pilgrimage back there some day."Why do I always get more kisses on powder days?" -my wife

I spent a season in northern Vermont, had a pass at Burke.
It is actually a pretty cool hill, as others have said - never (EVER) crowded, and the BMA kids skitter around on the ice all the time.
I've had a few downright good days there.
I had one scary day there, though, there was a "powerline" that we skied(not sure if it is legal or not, skier's right off the top, iirc, but it has been ~20 years), anyway, there was a fair bit of snow and the bigass wire was within reach. Easily.
Dunno. Beyond thinking I might get electrocuted while skiing, I thought Burke was rad.
Iain (funny how absence of crowds can make an otherwise small mountain ski well - if it were in southern VT, it'd be a shitshow)

It's all good.
I disagree flat landers need to ski at a hill with the feeling that they are at a ski area that has "IT" like K-Mart, Loon, Stratton etc... I mean whats the point of going skiing if you can't strut your new gear for everyone to see.People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

Burke is cool, skied there for free one year about 4-5 yrs ago, they closed but the snow was so good afterwards they re-opened two weeks later and let everyone ski for free.

Burke = Happiness in the mouth like when you drink good beer.
Had a season pass there for a few years. Great local shots in the woods, super quiet, good burgers. I still have my "Northern Star" sticker on my helmet.
To repeat: Go and buy a ticket. You won't be disappointed, they could use the moolah! Yay Burke!
