Tried the 188 DPS wailer 105 in flex 2 yesterday at Squaw.
I have to say that after reading all the good things about the ski, I was disapointed.
I skied in in firm conditions, and I felt that at speed, ski was somewhat unstable. My gold stadard is the Katana, which is rock steady at speed.

Maybe I also like damp skis, but my slalom racing skis are pretty lively, and still feel more stable.

The other thing that was weird: At speed, the inside ski wondered all over the place. I normally weigh the inside ski enough (maybe 40%), but the Waliers wanted a lot more weigh on the inside ski, Of ourse, once you do this, there is not enough weight on the outside???
Also, you need to go pretty fast to get it to carve. WHen i told the DPS people about instability and how it compared iwth the Katana, they said: well, the Katana has two sheets of titanium???

I was looking to get the DPS for backcountry skiing, but I need a ski that does well on firm conditions, of which we get plenty in the Sierras.

I ended up getting the K2 Hardside, which performed flawlessly in all conditions, and it is only 3/4 pounds heavier per pair.
