    20071201 TR - The Kootenays suck

    Life is not all rosy in BC, and CO etc do not have a monopoly on a slow start to this season. While most of southern BC has been getting the goods (search "Whistler") we have not. I finally got out today to ski some windblown schnarb.

    Reports were of decent skiing in the WW sidecountry, so we went up there hoping to harvest some of the bounty - apparently were were a day late and a $ short. However it was still a FKNA day as is every day in the mountains.

    snoboy,

    looking real sketch this coming week.. i was looking at the models and there's only about 10mm of water Monday, 15mm of water coming Wednesday - so if the temps stay down, that's about 25cm total going by the standard 1:10 ratio.

    what are you doing skiing?? you should have burned or sold them a long time ago. this season ain't happening

    </anti-jinx>

    looks like good times though, it's definitely better than nothing.

    AHHHHHH, good ol' WW, oh how i do miss thee... Didn't get my yearly trip there last season. Nice shots btw, how deep is the pack? lifts turning yet?
    Our world is full of surrender at the first sign of adversity, do not give up when the challenge meets you, meet the challenge. Through perseverance comes the rewards, the rewards that make life so enjoyable.

    Seize the day, trusting little in the future.

    if you want something, go after it. if you want to screw someone over, look DEEP in your heart and realize Karma is a bitch

    120cm at summit, apparently, and Silverking is running for the weekend only til the 15th.

    I'm not exactly sure how WW came out with 120cm at the top and Red has only 50cm at the top

    Halloween Chute to Prospector Bowl. The lodge is just out of sight to the left.

    computer/torrent slave running slow, won't open the photo, but from memory of the photo it's either one of the chutes that run out into catch basin on the hike up the ridge, or it's halloween chute that runs into prospector bowl.

    That is Prospector, didn't know the name of the chute, thanks guys. My "local" thought it might be called Pipeline.

    Prospector yeah. Thanks.

    Was feeling a lot of pressure to move my ass and get out there in a hurry, but things are shaping up slowly apparently. Hello February.
