Lots of misinformation about water here.

Bottom line: if there wasn't enough water to make snow, they wouldn't make snow.

This is true. They are given allocation based on availability.

I would be curious to see the total impact anaysis of a ski resort (energy, water, deforistation, etc.) divided by skier days and compare it to a day of slednecking tio see which has the greater impact.

How can you call yourself an environmentalist, yet turn a blind eye to the damage snowmaking can do to a watershed when the water is already as low as it will be all winter?
At least for myself, I am willing to listen to an individual's point of view, but there is nothing wrong with snowmaking or as you also referred to building and maintaining golf courses...You must be a hack!

...and speaking of conserving, why drink out of bottles and cans when you get better beer and waste less materials by drinking out of a keg?

many ski reesorts need snowmaking to create a base so that you can ski, plus when the snow melts it re-enters the watershed and can be used for drinking water, i see no problem especially when there is nothing else to ski

plus who wants to wait till January or February to ski lift served?

and speaking of beer, you get to return the water to the environment a lot faster than artificial snow. (I drink, therefore I am an environmentalist?)
ya know, beer is far more than just the world's most perfect breakfast food.
