This is true. They are given allocation based on availability.

I would be curious to see the total impact anaysis of a ski resort (energy, water, deforistation, etc.) divided by skier days and compare it to a day of slednecking tio see which has the greater impact.

Wasting water- to put shitty snow in just a few shitty spots nobody will ski in two months- during drought conditions is just plain ridiculous. I hear a lot of people complaining about the waste of golf courses- how is snowmaking any different? How can you call yourself an environmentalist, yet turn a blind eye to the damage snowmaking can do to a watershed when the water is already as low as it will be all winter?

At least for myself, I am willing to listen to an individual's point of view, but there is nothing wrong with snowmaking or as you also referred to building and maintaining golf courses...You must be a hack!

many ski reesorts need snowmaking to create a base so that you can ski, plus when the snow melts it re-enters the watershed and can be used for drinking water, i see no problem especially when there is nothing else to ski

plus who wants to wait till January or February to ski lift served?
