ATT: Whistler Mags, Backcountry.com group order!

Hey guys, I've contacted Odie from Backcountry.com and he will be our sales representative for the Whistler/Blackcomb crew. We are placing a huge order on Monday on the website. The more people we get the better the deal. He says that backcountry.com is willing to compete with the prodeal, so discounts should be good (and a better selection).

We are ordering a ton of Avy gear, but also skis, jackets, helmets, etc. If any of the Whistler Mags are interested in taking advantage of this, PM asap.

    Thanks,
    Eric

Emptying inbox as we speak. Pm if interested and also write and tell me what you are interested in buying off of the website. Order will be made on Monday. Remeber, you have to be located in Whistler to make the order.

    Thanks,

Once I get and idea of exactly how large the order will be in it's entirety, then I can give you all more details on pricing. I all ready have a large group of Whistler staff here that are getting on it, so should be a hefty group. I will let you know as soon as I do. I'll email Odie on tomorrow afternoon, so let me know asap, with details of what you would like. Availabe for Whistler pick-up only.

Edit: Oh yeah, another quick question: will brand normally unavailable to Canada (i.e. TNF) be included?

Here is the conversation thus far between myself and the whistler sales rep:

    "Hi Eric,

Thanks for your email and for being such a loyal Backcountry.com client. I
didn't see your telephone number on your email and wanted to discuss your
    order with you directly.

I'm pretty confident that we can get you what you need without having to go
through Mountain Gear. Probably closer to the discount your getting on the
Intrawest Broform prices, but with a better selection. I've used the
Intrawest Broform and that thing can be limited, so I feel your pain. Give
me a shout when you get a second so we can chat about your order! If you'd
like to save on long-distance just shoot me your digits and I'll call you!

I'll look forward to chatting with you and it'll be a pleasure to hook up
    our friends in BC!"

I just sent him an email about ordering items usually not available for canadian shipment. I'll let you guys know when he emails me back.

Okay, here is what our sales rep says:

    "Hey Eric,

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you... I've been riding my
longboard all morning and just got in; Good Times!

There's several ways to place your order but I think because of the
diversity in the product selections you might be better served to just place
your order online and email me your order number so I can apply the
discounts. After reviewing your discounts it's going to be hard for me to
beat the deal that the instructors are getting, but I was thinking a solid
25% off across the board for regular staff should hook you up nicely. Of
course I'd love for you to order the essentials from me, but it looks like
Whistler is hooking you up with a stellar discount already. How does 25%
    off sound?

What I'll do is extend this super discount for large orders and I'll hook
you guys up with a discount code that can be used throughout the season for
15% off anytime you need something!

I say you're posting on TGR, thanks for the props bro! Let me know once
    you've placed your order, cheers!"

Please just post on this forum if you are still interested in placing your order. If you are, please include the exact item(s) that you will be ordering (have to be in stock), the price, and the item #. It will be best for me to just place the order on the website, but I'm talking to our sales rep tomorrow about how to exactly do this with such a large group. Hopefully a lot of you guys are still interested in this great deal.

will it be one big shipment or i guess since its just a coupon code stuff will be sent individually? shipping costs similar to what they charge on SAC?

    Okay so here's the deal:

I just talked to Odie on the phone to get all of the final details. Our discount is 25%, but it must all be shipped to one address. We could get it shipped directly to Whistler, but then we have to worry about a bunch of things (shipping is only free to the US, paying import taxes, wouldn't be able to get items that do not ship to Canada). If we could get the entire order shipped to say Seattle or somewhere close to the border, than it would be MUCH cheaper. We would just need someone who was planning on coming up to Whistler to pack all this stuff up and bring it with them. Does anyone live, or have any trustworthy friends near the Seattle area that will be coming up to Whistler? I realize that this is a setback, but if possible, it would save as so much money. As far as payments go, I'll be placing separate orders totaling $2500 at a time. This way we don't have to place one huge order on one credit card. I asked if we could all place separate orders, but since Backcountry gets charged 3% per order, we can only charge a minimum of $2500 per order. So, payments will be made to my Paypal account at the email of eab03e@fsu.edu. I will let you know when to make the payments, I just want to get the total list compiled and sent to Odie.

If this is a problem for anyone, than you can place an order of your own on Backcountry and email me, so I can get Odie to apply a 15% discount. In this case, you can make your own payment, get it shipped to your (Whistler) address, etc.

Let me know what you guys think.

umm thats a joke... u can't bring all this stuff back through the border... if the person bringing it back got caught we'd have to pay duty on it all anyhow. better to just ship it to whistler through backcountry.com and use the UPS option that includes import fees... ive done it with SAC stuff before and its not that much... and we'd get it faster that way anyhow. this is ending up being way too complicated...

Okay, I'll present that to Odie. I understand that sending stuff to the US would be a huge hassle and not worth the 25% deal. I totally agree with you guys. Get back to ya soon.
